Hmm, much as I would like to agree with Pele and Fergie, much as I want Ronnie to stay put, my understanding of employment law, tested in the European Court, is that footballer's contracts are non-binding in respect of duration - like every other employee they have a right to terminate their employment at any time with reasonable notice. I think the employer may also have a right to compensation...it's called the transfer fee. And, technically Sepp Blatter is correct. Ethically wrong, of course!
