Those of you pay attention know that I live up a private driveway in a socially and economically mixed area. We have had some problems over the years with street prostitution and general riff-raff; we've had incidents of burglaries and criminal damage, and a a prostitute being flung against or front door.
There has been a noise outside and myself and neighbour went to investigate. It turns out a 13-year old boy wants to chain his bike to the gate opposite, because it is less likely to be nicked from there than outside his flat on the estate opposite. He was polite and respectful, he gave a name and a school (Jimmy's old school as it happens). I'm not good at making decisions on the spot, but I don't see a problem, other than logistics of whether the paint shop people and the bastards Tesco would object.
Dunno what to do.
