Well, Jose Cura was booed for his Don Carlo in Wien on Friday, and in extraordinary breaking news from Milano, Roberto Alagna threw a total hissy fit and refused to return after he got hissed and booed for his Celeste Aida.
ALAGNA OUT OF AIDA. He's all like: C U L8R LAM3RZ!!
So, in one week, there's been booing in New York, Wien and Milano. If any such unrowdiness happens in sedate London tomorrow, rest assured I shall text to Twitter at the first opportunity.
Apparently the paparazzi have responded to Alagna's withdrawl from Aida in full-commando mode, and are currently stalking the tenor outside of his super-luxury Milan hotel, patiently waiting to pounce on the delinquent tenor once he leaves his room to get ice from the vending machine. (just kidding...we don't really "do" ice-vending machines in Italy) ;p Anyway, I'm sure we'll have some entertaining "official statements" by tomorrow...
And from Giorgia, complete with an artist's impression of how it may have happened.
Update: Giorgia has kindly emailed an English translation of Signor Lasagne's hissy fit...
