How does one send an email to Microsoft?
I know that they are firm that specialises in computers, but they don't seem to have quite grasped the basic concept of the internet.
I tried to send them an email last night through their publicised 'abuse@' email address. But they sent me back an automated bounce message saying that they can't process it unless it's from a hotmail address.
That leaves me with two options - to telephone their Cambridge campus on an 0870 (expensive) number, which isn't very helpful, I don't think. Firstly, will I actually get to someone who can deal with something that originates in the USA. And secondly, if I do, I shall end up having to read out a hyperlink which, you know, might be just easier to communicate via an email.
Or I suppose I could get myself a hotmail address. I suspect I probably have about three already, no doubt clogged up with spam. Then I'd have to keep checking it on a web interface on the off-chance that they might reply, rather than waiting for a 'k-off email to drop into my inbox.
I can only conclude that Microsoft know less about t'internet than I do or that they are utterly indifferent to someone breaching their Terms of Use to break the laws of the USA and UK to make death threats.
It's going to have be a police matter, I think.
