As a result of a comment in a post below I ended up emailing Faye a copy of Au fond de Temple Saint by Bjoerling and Merrill, and it struck me I could email it to anyone.
I then thought it would be easier to just make it generally available, then perhpas, in future posts, it might be quite fun to include tracks referred to, or excerpts from. There are various filesharing sites out there, with various pros and cons. On reflection I decided to set up a yahoo group. Mainly for sound-file sharing, although in theory there might be photos I am happy to share with 'the community' but not the general internet.
I considered sending out a general mailing, perhaps to all the email addresses that are whitelisted, but I'm a bit scared in case people regard that as spam. OTOH, by just saying, come along and join, I am putting the onus on you to go through the effort to do so. It's a fine balance.
And I don't even know whether I have got the 'management' right, but if anyone applies today and it doesn't work, I'll probably have time to sort it out. Of course, from Thursday onwards I shall be busier than a busy person being busy, and will probably forget what the internet is*.
But if you interested either in that particular sound file or in group membership to hear future potentially interesting files, try going here and see what happens.
Membership will be granted to the 'usual suspects' of commenters, the blogrolled, Real Life people and non-trolls from various newsgroups. Update - and lurkers who can give a vaguely convincing impression of not being a troll.
If comments indicate a groundswell that a spammish general invite will not be regarded as the spawn of satan, I might end up sending one out, with apologies to the minority view and with permission to completely ignore!
