As soon as I looked at this picture, I realised how badly taken it was. It never even crossed my mind at the time - March 2001 - that the camera would focus automatically on the stalks and grass in the foreground, and not on the castle. What I would probably do now is move the auto-focus oblong to focus on the castle, or maybe I would manually focus, or I would put the castle in the middle of the picture, lock the focus, and then compose the shot.
Alternatively, I would make more of a thing about the grass and stalks, using the castle just as backdrop.
Despite the snapshot nature, I do rather like this picture
