A party of sheer naked opportunism
The Lib Dems are an unusual party in that they start local and expand to the national. So, the right-wing agenda they applied to Lambeth ten years ago, and, especially in the past two when they have been running the council (Allegedly) is mirrored on the national stage.
Actually, I do them a disservice - they only peddled their right wing agenda in the North of the Borough. They had a different agenda in the South of the Borough. It was like two parties - Lib Dems (Vauxhall) and Lib Dems (Streatham).
But even I'm durprised at thei rplans to replace universal public service with vouchers, an insurance-based NHS, and other Thatcherite proposals.
