Lympne is built on the site of the Roman fort and port Portus Lemanis, on the Saxon Shore. In subsequent centuries the lagoon below has become Romney Marsh. After brunch at The Bistro at Lympne Castle, we wandered the churchyard and I snapped the view.
Incidentally, Winston Churchill was one of many luminaries who were frequent visitors to Port Lympne, now a hotel and wild animal park. He relaxed by painting this view.
