Interesting, especially when he was talking about rehearsals, and about how he had expected he would have retired by his mid-fifties,and his future plans. (We have this Big Question in Gert Cottage - who's going to retire first, Plácido or Fergie?Even though we know neither will ever properly retire - but the question really is - what will happen first, Plácido stops singing or Fergie stops managing Manchester United?)
When asked about the prominent tenors of the younger generation I have to say I was mightily disappointed he didn't mention Jonas...
It mentions here he will be singing in Jordan next year. Jimmy has said he wants him to sing somewhere we can go for a holiday. When we were in Taba, Egypt, a few years back we were booked to go to Petra but the previous party had got snowed in overnight and needed to be dug out by the Jordanian Army, so our trip was cancelled. Since then I have been wanting to try again to go, and recently I have been gripped by a desire to go to Syria.
