Yay!
Movie to be La Bohème
Grits teeth, takes deep breath, expires an ugly sound...No, not Bohème. anything but Bohème
Anna Netrebko: News - La Bohème Film and Lucia at the MET
Blogpost also contains live report from Rolando's latest comeback, a recital in Barcelona.
While I think about it, here's a Times article Anna Netrebko, opera's poster girl. I shall be seeing Anna on Thursday when she plays supporting soprano to Jonas Kaufmann's Alfredo, and a certain Cold Haughty Russkie plays Jonas's dad. I think it's gonna be good (okay, if I was In Charge of Opera Casting, I would not put either of the men into this opera at the expense of other, more suitable operas, but it seems to be what each of them wants, so there's like no way I'm going to boycott in a fit of pique). I must dust off my camera...
And does this mean that Anna and Erwin are getting married? Is it actually official that they're dating, I mean everybody knows (although SOSSLED failed individually and collectively to notice when they were in London for Don Giovanni in the summer) but has there ever been an announcement, did they ever invite the paparazzi to take photos of them canoodling in Richmond Park. Did they not consider that no celebrity coupling is real unless it has been Press Released in a flurry of attention-seeking? And most importantly, are they going to get Andrea Bocelli to sing at the wedding?
