My laptop is getting slower and slower. This does not surprise me, even though I regularly virus-and spybot check.
And I do give it a battering, expecting it to multi-task.
If I recall correctly, conventional wisdom says it's occasionally a good idea to return it to its factory settings. I have never bothered to do this, knowing how much of a hassle this would then to reload it. But, the way I see it, as long as I make sure everything in "My Documents" - including Pictures, Music and Videos - is safely backed up on the External Hard Drive; also stuff in My Profile, such as archived emails, and importantly, all the programmes I have installed and downloaded, then there shouldn't be a problem. All I need to do is restore the factory settings, then copy everything back from F drive to C drive.
But a part of me thinks that that is a pointless exercise, because any problems currently affecting the C drive will just go across to F and back again?
