Update update: I just found this picture on BBC News Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo and Chilean soprano Veronica Villarroel perform to 20,000 people at a free concert in the Plaza de Armas square in Santiago, Chile.

Not that one should rely too much on machine translations; apparently, yesterday's gratuitous concert included those well known pieces 'I sell black eyes' and 'The Moan of Frederico...', whilst Lippen Schwegen was sung in lamentable Spanish...

And I'm afraid the significance of him mentioning a future 3Ts concert has only just dawned on me: it means that Luciano Pavarotti is healthy enough to perform. Whether or not I would be inclined to pay good money is entirely beside the point: it demonstrates that wide-spread pessimism about Pav is misplaced. Which is excellent news.
Finally, my Quality control processes (examining site stats) shows that insufficient people are clicking on this link kindly provided by Rebecca in comments to a previous entry. Currently on the front-page on Yahoo Entertainment video but will fall back with the elapse of time; or, alternatively on the Associated Press site.
