City nightclub destroyed by fire
Ten people were treated for minor injuries but firefighters, who praised the nightclub staff for their actions, believe all inside the club escaped...A West Midlands Fire Service spokeswoman said the club had been evacuated by the time they were called.
Time and time again there have been dreadful stories of unnecessary carnage because greedy and careless owners of nightclubs etc have locked or blocked emergency exits. I don't suppose it can be the easiest job persuading 500 clubbers, many of them probably off their heads, to leave. It appears that this was a responsibly managed club and those responsible for ensuring that should be praised and rewarded appropriately, management and staff.
