A memorial is being unveiled in London to singer Paul Robeson, blacklisted as "un-American" in the 1950s. Tony Benn, one of the surviving links with a support group in the UK, recalls meeting his hero.
There's a pub in Streatham that has a framed photograph of when Paul Robeson sung in Streatham. At least, there was. It's probably been taken down post-refurbishment: the history of Streatham, and its place in world history, has 'no relevance' for the key target demograph.
