Tonight I shall be at Westminster Cathedral (boo! hiss!) for a Brahms Requiem featuring Carolyn Sampson. On Sunday I shall be at the Barbican for a Vaughan-Williams Sea Symphony featuring Gerald Finley.

I suppose there are worse ways to spend the week I am sorely missing my favourite tenor than by seeing my favourite soprano and my favourite baritone.
And after that nothing good will ever happen again - just some shabby little shocky with some Romanian soprano, some Welsh bass-baritone and some Argentinian tenor.
I was supposed to go to hear Jonas Kaufmann in recital this evening but I got a phone call this afternoon to say he would be standing me up :-(
