Jane Ashworth
Justyn Trenner.
Hello Spam Harvesters.
Jane's email address is [email protected]
Update Spammer Ashworth's idea of an apology is to write "I love your threat. Astonishing behaviour "
Just for context, this prime idiot started her spamming a couple of years ago when she picked bloggers on the left and started sending round-robins with all recipient addresses disclosed, and directing people to her blog. I had not previously heard of it,and she had never linked me, or left a comment here.
Tim Bloggerheads sent her a polite email, with a specifically explained and in the context correct cc-all, saying a) it's convention to bcc a round robin and b) if you want people to viist your blog you do so by writing interesting stuff and by links, comments etc. She took notice of the bcc convention but continued the hectoring emails. I emailed her to take me off her list.
Yesterday I got five. Not one, but five hectoring emails from Justyn Trenner, with not as much as an introduction as to who he is or why he selected me as his target. Although I noticed the notorious Jane Ashworth as a cc to the email. I drafted a response, an angry reaction to being spammed, and I was about to press send, when I noted a PS "I got your email address from Jane Ashworth"
I often get email associated with this blog. Much of it is from the same people who comment here; some from people to whom I link; and some more is from people who begin by saying "I read such a post on your blog and I am interested in that topic." Some people even begin by saying "I hope you don't mind me emailing you..." All of which is nice and is appreciated. Even when people email me to take issue with something I've written, even when I disagree with them, they are perfectly entitled to do so, and in many cases I believe they do so by email out of politeness to avoid flame wars.
But Ashworth and her sidekick are just spammers. I get emails from all sorts of organisations and I always have the option of opting out. It seems that Jane Ashworth's email list is like the Hotel California - you can never check out.
