I never realised that Socialist Worker did reviews of operas. Well, not from the Royal Opera House, anyway
...Mozarts most overtly political opera...The struggle against aristocratic privilege it depicts clearly foreshadows the great French revolution of 1789.
The opera is filled with a sense of indignation against class rule and it expresses the 18th century Enlightenments optimism the possibility of progress and a new, more just society.
Although there is an occasional commenter here whose partner has suggested selling copies of Socialist Worker in the Vilar Floral Hall.
