I came downstairs about eleven. Jimmy was watching Sky News (I'm trying to cure him), and was reporting that they were reporting that people had gone out to watch. I suggested that perhaps people are desperate for their five nanoseconds of fame they think they will get from sending a shaky photo taken with a phone to a news website. The police are appealing for people to stay away, because heavy traffic is impeding the movement of emergency vehicles.
Knocks head against walll
Reminds of a few weeks ago when News24 had a phone interview with someone who had decided to drive across Bodmin Moor in a blizzard and had got stuck. I can't say I've never made a misjudgement, so I'm loath to criticise fully. However, part of this man's complaint was that he was without food or water, or a blanket, and, apparently, he wanted our sympathy. The TV quickly switched to Weakest Link
