Sitting in a restaurant on Saturday afternoon, I commented to Jimmy that I do like looking at conductors from behind, and, the older they get, the more impressive they seem to be from behind. Conductors' Shoulders, I call it.
Have you noticed the longevity of conductors in general? So many active in their 70s, even into their 80s. There's a theory that conducting combines cardio and cerebral exercise, the key to a long life.
Jimmy commented that his right arm is noticeably bigger than his left, because he uses his right arm all day.
So I sniggered and said
Conductors do it with both arms
He said it depends on the size of their baton.
