Call for 1,000 more speed cameras to save lives
According to this article,
About 100 people a day are seriously injured or killed on the roads, and speed is blamed as a major factor.
I see they don't cite any sources, so this is clearly a statement of fiction. I mean, if it were true, there'd be uproar. The News of the World would be running lynchmobs, whipping up hatred of those implicated in the deaths, calling on their readers to attack anybody with the slightest connection to perpretators. Surely, ordinary members of the public would be outraged, and calling on politicians to do something about it.
But none of this is happening so I can only surmise that the Observer is lying through its teeth.
