Walked from Waterloo, to a constant, uninterrupted sound of sirens, police, ambulance, fire, police dogs, St John's Ambulance, ministerial Jag with police escort. What had started out as a typical London transport goes down everyone copes and treats it as a skive becomes a London full of sombre faces as everyone, like me, gets scared at the sheer volume of sirens. It was the St John's Ambulance that scared me - you expect them for events like Live8, but when it's in support of the Emergency Services. Not good.
