...and an interview with Siegmund
The Guardian are extremely good at keeping a comprehensive archive of their articles, so, hopefully, this really is a permalink and I feel no need to breach copyright and copy-and-paste here (We ♥ The Grauniad!)
The Guardian has a review, perhaps a bit bland...
The Telegraph combines with a review of Rigoletto and Mitridate, both of which I'm also seeing this week (did I mention I was having a crazy fortnight and a bit...?). 'Stupendous' is their adjective of choice...
You really must beg, borrow, steal or preferably buy a ticket to see Plácido Domingo as Siegmund. One doesnt wish to be morbid, but the tenor is now 64. And the way hes singing, he cant have more than another 30 years of Wagner in him.
Simon, with whom I met up on Friday, also reviews it, and appears to have a ticket going spare for Monday...
You do know it will be on the TV on Monday night.
Update: Five stars from the Independent
And Steve's written an excellent review at rmo.
OMH presents an excellent review focusing on the singing and music.
