Blair to delay calling election
You know I'm biased, but regardless of your political views, you have to feel a bit sorry for Tone
It is not the first time Mr Blair has needed to change his election timetable. In 2001, he postponed the election because of the foot-and-mouth epidemic.
You will have noticed that my sister correctly despatched Nicholas Witchell off to Rome; she's now working out official representation at funerals. She reckons the Queen can go off to Rainier's - Chas was supposed to be the representative, and it conveniently gets Queenie out of the wedding - and Princess Michael of Kent can be at the Vatican.
I was just wondering, actually. The Catholic Church is a Global Multinational Corporation with members upwards of a billion. I wonder if the funeral arrangements will take into consideration the Walesian nuptials, after all, the British Commonwealth has even more members globally, or will the Vatican regard it as just one more event of a aprochial nature no doubt taking place in dozens of nations worldwide. And will Charlie's future status as Head of the Church of England be weighed in the balance.
