Jimmy's niece Lisa gave birth at midnight on Sunday/Monday to a bouncing baby boy, 8 pounds 9 ounces. I popped into see Grandad Lawrence today; Auntie Tina was also there.
Baby is being called Jared, or Jarrod - we're not sure of the spelling. Larewnce is not impressed. Tina likes it. I'm not sure that I would choose the name myself, but I don't see Lawrence's problem. It's a proper name, not something just made up, and difficult to classify for class, age, race, whatever. I suspect that there won't be too many of them in his class at school. Although what do I know - that was the objective of naming my brother Matthew, my cousin's sons Tim and Jack and my nephew Joseph...
My niece's best friend Jade (yes, really...) acquired a baby brother a few weeks ago and Pauline and the children went off to view him. He's called Ryan. Pauline's response was "Nice...". Well, what else can you say to a new Mum, really?
