I was really upset to hear about Cloughie's death. In retrospect, not surprised. Even though he wasn't in the Dead Pool.
An utter genius. A flawed genius but larger than life. I lived in Nottingham 1986-89 and he dominated the public arena there. Good solid Lefty as well. He was sacked by Derby County for giving free tickets to striking miners. He did talk about wanting to become Labour candidate in Stretford. My Grandad was not impressed. Mind you, Grandad was Manchester United through-and-through.
It's amazing to think what he achieved with Forest. Winning the European Cup. Not once, but twice. That is some achievement.
And quite right that the BBC is leading the News with this.
We won't see his like again.
