Long eyelashes thwart ID card iris scans - interesting: my sister, nephew and I all have long eyelashes - when he was a baby we were in a shop and a woman said, "Ooh, look at his eyelashes - it's not fair that a boy..." As she turned round to sister and me her voice trailed off.
Just for the record, I am, in principle, in favour of ID cards but remain concerned about the practical implications, including the cost, the implementation, and the potential for abuse. Speaking entirely in a personal capacity as a former politician, of course...
