Now Blair faces 'Loch Fyne accord'
I get irritated with newspaper talk. I imagine Tony Blair will stand down as Party Leader one day, either voluntarily or through force of circumstances.
The newspapers have been writing about the possibility since at least 1999.
I did read somewhere that he had no desire to go on and on and on like Thatch had done.
Political Gert would be reading and attempting to interpret every subtle nuance to work out who had said what to whom.
But where has Political Gert gone? (Answer she has a bagful of Brixton Roses to deliver before 10 June. She has, however, booked a concert for Election Day...)
Apart from Gordon Brown, my tips to take over are David Blunkett, David Milliband, David Lammy or David Beckham.
