Jonathan Freedland, interviewing Stephen Poliakoff sings very highly the praises of Perfect Strangers. And quite rightly. It got me thinking - look, I was reading it in the Most Boring Accountancy Lecture ever.
People are for ever making lists of their top songs, top films, top sit-coms, top books. What about top TV drama serials - ones with a definite start and end, not of the Casualty/ER type.

The bfi has a list of the Top 100 British TV programmes of all time. For about 95, I can either say "Oh my!" or "You know, I've never seen that!"
