This year, I want to read the entire oeuvre of my diary, but I promise you I won't reproduce paragraphs and paragraphs of it here.
2/1/1981 I was almost thirteen, and my parents had given me this rather sweet notebook in which to write my diary.
Bear in mind this was the school holidays, and when you're not quite thirteen there's not a lot to do except, it seems, revise Latin, read the dictionary and play with your little brother's Scalextrix. And watch TV...
I watched Play School, Mighty Mouse, Jackanory, Johnny Ball Games, Grange Hill (Tucker has joined the action group), Ivor the Engine, and later, The Tales of Hoffman, starring Plácido Domingo, who's really gorgeous and brill.
