I watched Swap Shop. Ted Heath was on, talking about the Third World.
I went out to Sale and met up with Kathy. At the Odeon was The Jazz Singer, which was fabulous. I cried. I think Neil Diamond is gorgeous. Kramer vs Kramer was pretty good but not as good as The Jazz Singer.
In Needlework Mrs Bn made me undo all my beautiful (you have to be joking) stitching.
At lunchtime, Andrea Bu taught me do one side of The Cube. Im dead chuffed!
I watched the News. The unemployment figures are 2,988,644. No doubt Maggie will be celebrating because they are down 10,000. She will be saying ten thousand is ten thousand is ten thousand. But so what, two million, nine hundred and ninety eight thousand, six hundred and forty four is two million, nine hundred and ninety eight thousand, six hundred and forty four is two million, nine hundred and ninety eight thousand, six hundred and forty four.
I caught the 264. Siobhan was on. On the way up to school we had a big political argument. SHE IS A BLOODY THATCHERITE! I will pray for her.
In Chemistry Mr D didnt say anything to Clare and I about our not going up to the staffroom for our detentions!
When I got up Pauline told me that Bill Pitt has won the Croydon bi-election.
I fancy Phil Oakey. I have since Thursday.
I finished reading Brideshead Revisited. I think is ace the best book I have ever read.
United won at Anfield! The top of the table goes 1st) the best team in the world - Manchester United. Okay they have played two more matches, but they won six points from those. So.
There is a huge CND rally in London today the estimation was about 150,000.
I went to 11.15 Mass. Danny was there!
There have been CND marches in Brussels, Paris and East Berlin.
I watched the News. Britain have won a £600,000,000 deal from Brazil. I dont know what for.
A bomb has exploded in Oxford Street killing one man, a bomb disposal man.
The deal with Brazil is six ships and naval equipment.
I am most disgruntled. The news gave various soccer scores such as Norwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester, Forest, Oxford, Manshitty and West Brom are through to the third round of the League Cup BUT THEY DID NOT GIVE THE UNITED RESULT because the match was being shown on Midweek Sports Special. And Mater and Pater wouldnt let me watch it. So the time is 2242 and I have to kill the next 17 minutes (its now 2243). Im not quite sure how but Ill do it. You see, I want to the Piccadilly eleven oclock news (its now 2245) because I reckon they ought to give the result because they are a Manchester based radio station and Manchester United are, if you hadnt noticed, a Manchester based football team. And anyway, they tend to do that sort of thing on Piccadilly (its now 2246 &frac;12 only thirteen more minutes to go you see its 2247 deja!).
I looked at my watch again 2255. I switched on the radio and now I hear O Superman. Although I hate this Ill sit through it. Then I heard the News. United are out.
We went to Blackpool. We drove down the M63 and M61, as far as near Fleetwood. We drove to Clevelys and then to N. Blackpool. We had tea and drove along the foreshore to see the illuminations. They were really good. Then we went home. BL may well close down unless the peace talks succeed tomorrow.
On Swap Shop John Craven did a report on CB radio. Id love to have CB set. My name would be Teddy Bear. There is a lot of good in them. Adam Ant will be on next week. I must watch it.
At 3.38 Notts County scored. Then in the 41st minute Gary Birtles scored for United, of course. At 4.10 Bryan Robson limped off. At 4.20 Remi Moses scored. Rotherham beat Chelsea 6-0. Bury 7 Northampton 1. United beat Notts County, the first time since 18th April that both Manchester teams won on the same day. Manchester United are still League leaders
