I've just been driving for the first time in four years. I've been wimping it ever since. Only round the block, mind. I got beeped once. Would it surprise you that it was by a van driver. Pardon me, I was driving on a road alongside the common on a blistering hot Sunday, a road with cars parked both sides, leaving just enough clearance for one vehicle, I was assessing the risk of pedestrians striding out into the road as 'high' and I was driving at 20 mph. So strike me down.
I'm going to get some P plates,. They have no legal meaning in the UK, but they do indicate to the vehicle behind to keep their distance from the nervous driver in front.
Sadly, DDP, it's not Haiti we're going to. (Basically lots of UK bloggers are on hiatus and someone speculated what the plural of hiatus was, and I decided it was far more trendy to go on hiatus then holiday.)
We're off to Scotland on Friday, returning three weeks today. I expect from a Californian perspective Scotland is fairly exotic, but I think we'll spend more time getting to Stansted Airport than we'll do going from Stansted to Glasgow and beyond.
