Flags are now officially cool! On this blog, anyway.
I have been from South Brixton to Denmark Hill and back, in one of the most densely diverse areas of the planet, and as well as multitudinous England flags I have spotted...
Brazil, Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago, Ghana, Australia, Portugal, Italy , either Netherlands or Serbia and Montenegro, and something which I assumed to be an Irish flag (with attitude - Ireland ain't in the World Cup, and this is England, get over it...) but might conceivably have been Cote D'Ivoire. Pride of place must go to a Polish flag so enormous it was bigger than the car than it was flying from!
I wonder how many more I'll see over the next few weeks. Probably the least likely are Saudi Arabia or the USA.
But I stil hold the view that people who had England flags flying from their cars two months ago are just sad.
