BBC SPORT | Football | Premiership | Man Utd 4-0 Charlton
I watched (on TV) the glorious end to a Curate's Egg of a season. A season where we did pick up silverware, something that should never be taken for granted, even when it is only the League Cup. A season when we were always second best, always playing Catch-Up. And yet a season where we qualified for the League phase of the European Champions League, and won enough points to have won the League in most years.
We have some exciting young players and have bought some interesting new players in, too. It was heartbreaking when Wayne Rooney broke his foot last week, but heartbreaking more for England than for United. It seems we have seen the last of Ruud van Nistelroy. It's been brewing for a while but he bolted out of Old Trafford with a flick of the tail and a whinny. But it was great to see Paul Scholes back in action and the wonderful Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making yet another comeback. And of course, great to see Giuseppe Rossi on the pitch.
Bring on the World Cup!
