Teddy Sheringham was born before England won the World Cup. (1966 was a good year for English football...)
Does anyone know offhand who the oldest Premiership scorer is?
I know there was spate a few years ago of old players - the one that springs most quickly to my mind is Ray Wilkins, who left QPR when they were relegated in 1995, a few months short of his fortieth birthday. John Burridge played for Man City at age 43 and 4 months, but he's a goalie.
Whilst Teddy Sheringham continues to play Top-Class football, and for a further two years after that, I shall continue to call myself 'young'...!
