Sorry if you're eating...
It just hit me when I was elsewhere. Last night, Oliver Letwin made an acceptance speech, where he distinctly referred to 'people' who pay taxes, the schools that 'people' send their children to and the hospitals that 'people' go to, but the police on the streets that 'we ' walk down.
I've done a Google but reports conveniently miss out the schools and hospitals bit. We know he would rather beg on the streets than send his children to a state school. It doesn't surprise me that he shuns the NHS in favour of Private Healthcare. Let's hope his tax management is avoidance rather than evasion...!
But exactly how patronisingly paternalistic can that be? The Tories don't use the public services that most of the population does, so they do not have the slightest fucking idea - still - why we care about them and they don't give a flying fig...
I know it's a longshot, but if anyone has a transcript, can they email me gert.blog at the site url, or blog it and post a link (trackback if you can?)
