I discover that Plácido is appearing in Dublin in March. I had a feeling that I was already booked that evening* so I checked my diary and saw that I have a ticket for Die Walkre at Covent Garden that evening. Damn, I thought, that will be difficult to ditch and replace, if sales for Das Rheingold are any measure. 'I wonder when booking opens for non-Friends'. I check on the website and find it's been open for three hours and thus, almost certainly, sold out.
I would happily ditch my Die Walkre ticket if I could be guaranteed a ticket for one or more of the July performances, for which the Friends' mailing says "a strict ballot will be carried out. If you purchase two tickets through the Friends ballot, it will not be possible to purchase more tickets at any later date." (does anybody know where I can get a Fake ID, together with Fake credit card?). I have already informed the Ticket Office that I would murder to get a ticket - I'm not sure that my belated, limp, 'not literally' entirely convincing. My file is probably marked up 'Homicidal maniac'.
In a perfect world, I will get tickets for two July performances, so will feel quite happy ditching my March ticket, having remembered next Monday to book a ticket for Dublin but I don't think that ticketmaster.ie takes Switch cards.
This is way too complicated, y'know, my brain can't cope. And I'm sure it's against my principles to visit Ireland...
*and, no, not for my niece's sixth birthday, seeing that I was pointedly told earlier this year that her fifth party wasn't for grown-ups - goodness knows why she thinks I'm a grown-up...
