Legendary radio DJ John Peel dies
Occasionally, a news story hits you right in the solar plexus and brings tears to the eyes.
Sadly, the death of legends and heroes seem to be happening too frequently at the moment. John Peel was bigger than most.
Another one who never got the knighthood he deserved. I guess it was presumed he had years left in him. I was surprised to read he was 65.
I can't begin to measure the influence he has had on music, all the great and good and okay bands he discovered.
I'm sure tomorrow's newspapers will be full.
A true legend; I feel there ought to be a National Day of Mourning.
