Next up in the alphabetical playing of tapes is The Blues Brothers b/w with Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints (you will find that in taping, I had no real regard for the alphabet, a fact that troubles me 13-18 years later). I can't imagine the last time I played these - a good few years, I'm guessing
I think I taped The Blues Brothers off my friend Helen-in-Essex, but I can't be sure. There was a mad Blues Brothers craze when I was a student: I think we had numerous Blues Brothers parties round campus. In fact, as write this, I smell a smell which is evocative of those crazy boozy nights and vodka-and-orange. I think as a student I was too young (too immature? insufficiently hedonistic?) to really enjoy the student life. I saw the film once. It was okay, but I've never had a great desire to see it again. Rawhide is quite a good song.
I taped Rhythm of the Saints off Matt. It is entirely unremarkable and totally forgettable.
