Rolling Stone reveals top 500 albums ever
I have 6 of the Top 50, but, I have to say, it's a very partial list. It's basically a list of albums that you would expect middle-class white men between about 39 and 54 to own, comprising only 3 female artists. Nothing has gone through my mind as being a "But surely they should have included..." I don't think that it adds anything to the common weal to compile a list like this. In fact I find it somewhat irritating, reminding me for all the world of certain men I knew, especially at University, who chose their music collection, and criticised mine, on the basis of the image it projected, whereas I chose mine because I liked it.
