Says the Palm Beach Post
Placido Domingo opened his Palm Beach Opera gala program at the Kravis Center Sunday with a confession: Because he was suffering from a cold, he feared he would be having an off night.A little more than two hours later, when he finished what well could have been the most resplendent evening of song this 12-year-old hall has witnessed to date, there was only one thought the capacity crowd could have had. Namely, can you imagine this guy when he's having an on night?...But his steely voice shows no sign of wear and tear...it seems only to gain depth and confidence.
Wed that to the singer's considerable charm - he cozies up to the audience like a refined version of Julio Iglesias - and you have yourself quite an act.
I don't suppose the Palm Beach Post probably gets out much, but still, this just makes me purrrrrrr in anticipation of Dublin, a week tomorrow...
