Tories plan migrant health checks
It only applies to non-EU citizens entering for over six months or over a year, depending on the nature of the checks.
So no real deterrent again infectious diseases brought in by casual visitors or returning residents, or EU citizens.
Screening for treatable conditions is not a bad idea as a public health measure, but the Tories' planned spending cuts will jeopradise preventive health in general.
I expect they'll get all those unemployed dole-claiming doctors and nurses to do the immigramts' health checks.
What's that you tell me? The dole queues are not full of idle health professionals?
Better get some more in from foreign countries, then.
