The Joy of Christmas -a superb superb double CD I picked up by accident many years ago. It comes out every year. It combines the best traditional Christmas Carols with proper arrangements by David Willcocks and others (incidentally he's conducting some carols at St Martin in the Fields next Tuesday; I'm elsewhere); and some of the classics of the classical repertoire with a (sometimes tenuous) connection to Christmas.
This, along with candles, signifies the positive and exciting aspect of Christmas. The commercialism and the crap I would rather do without.
