Wind turbine

Reportedly, Britain's (Europe's?) biggest onshore windfarm is situated close to the historic literary village of Haworth.
Personally I think wind generators are wonderful things, beautiful and elegant. How can people object to them? They are far less of a blot on the landscape than pylons.

All man-made constructions have changed the landscape from its natural form. There seem to be fewer objections to roads and houses, because they are deemed to be useful. Yet wind farms are deemed not. And because of arch Nimbyism, it seems that we are about to resurrect the obsolescent nuclear electric industry. Talk about horrendous short-sightedness. /rant
