I do not regard myself as a Folkie, although, on reflection, many of my favourite rock acts are heavily folk-influenced.
I suppose I have an antipathy to twee tiptoe-through-the-tulips cowpat music, but this Folk Britannia evening was very much about Songs of Work and Protest, paying tribute to the legacy of Woody Guthrie, Ewan MacColl etc.
And that sort of folk I do like. Martin Carthy is also a legend, even I know that!
