Placido Domingo: from tenor to baritone - Times Online
According to Chris Hunt, the producer of the BBC documentary and co-ordinator of the video releases — who is at pains to emphasise that the BBC film is a “kick-start” to an ambitious programme of opera broadcasts, culminating in Domingo’s Boccanegra from the ROH next June — the programme will focus on his decision to sing the baritone role, but he will also discuss his great tenor parts.

Is the BBC programme going to be also on their international chammel BBC World? Or on the internet?
Does anybody know?
It's really frustrating to miss out on these things all the time.

I'd be very surprised if it were on t'internet, officially - I suppose
a search to find last week's Shirley Bassey will be the biggest
indicator. However, I give my solemn pledge that it will almost
certainly be available to download from t'internet by Christmas, if not
before! In the internet age, there is no reason to miss out on
anything!!!

Well that's certainly reassuring ... I will await further news... thanks for that.
don't suppose the Staatsoper "Simon" will be DVD'd or anything , that would make a great xmas present. I absolutely adore the combination of Barenboim conducting and Domingo singing.

A New York performance will be shown in cinemas. I don't know whether it follows that there will be a TV performance; if so, there will at least be unofficial, if not commercial DVDs. Similarly, a BBC TV transmission will certainly lead to unofficial availability and ought to lead to a DVD, but with no guarantees. I suppose 'the market' decides there is a limit to the number of different versions that can exist!

So I should just keep an eye on YouTube, Ebay, and such?
Thanks for the info.
